New Old Friends

My grandmother was my inspiration. She could make friends with anyone if she wanted to, and she had a wicked sense of humor. Towards the end of her life she suffered from dementia, and she wasn’t able to maintain relationships as well anymore. I wanted to show a depiction of a wisened individual acting young, just like my grandmother. I wanted to put a big personality, and a loving face to an illness and a demographic that so often get looked over because it can be uncomfortable to look directly at it. But they’re way more fun to talk to than most, and worth maintaining the relationship.
