Koura Linda
This script was the winning screenplay of the Space Dream Productions International Screenplay Competition where the winning script gets produced into a short film. The story by Dan Jablons was not only incredibly production-ready, but in the world of increasing divides between people, it felt incredibly timely and powerful. Bringing it to life was extra meaningful as the lead actor (who was 89 years old) had never acted in a movie before, but had actually served in the Army, and whose father’s name was “Sol” (the character’s name in the film). It was really wonderful bringing everyone together to bring this film to life, especially as that is the very theme of the film itself!
Koura Linda grew up notorious for elaborate birthday party decorations and painting murals on any wall she could. She loved anything creative, and started writing out character developments, script ideas, and shot lists in her notebooks. As soon as she could legally hold a job she was working as an art teacher’s assistant.
Fast forward about a decade, after stumbling in with art department crew one summer, she quickly fell in love with it and spent the next 10 years working on set and event design, eventually getting into full production design, while working professionally in administrative roles including marketing, public relations, and sales.
Never officially finishing high school, or going to film school, art school, or college, Koura knew that experience and competence go hand-in-hand, so she sought out internships, apprenticeships, and any opportunity for hands-on work in Hollywood while taking any additional classes she could.
She worked as a day player, and studied acting, writing, camera, and lighting. She took a rigging intensive to get certified as a set rigger and then worked on event spaces and stages throughout the West Coast from Seattle to Los Angeles to Phoenix to Las Vegas, designing and rigging lights and sets.
Following a sudden and critical medical event in 2011, Koura was forced to reevaluate her life and decide how to move forward with physical limitations and disabilities.
Determined to continue as a professional artist, she worked to learn how to navigate the not exactly accessible world of the traditional film industry. In 2013, Space Dream Productions was born as an independent production company with a focus on exemplifying that filmmakers are ambassadors of humanity, charged with sharing their stories. In 2020, her husband, Spaceship, officially joined the company as a co-owner and Executive Vice President.
Since releasing their first film in 2016, Koura has been personally nominated for and won multiple awards in every major category of filmmaking including directing, producing, writing, acting, editing, production design, cinematography, VFX, and sound. She’s also a contributing artist to 2 Emmy Award wins for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s production company hitRECord, and has overseen post-production of client projects nominated for and winning multiple Webby and Telly awards.
She is a proud recipient of the Mico Award for her courage, innovation, and excellence in a career in film, and was named the NOVA International Film Festival Artist of the Year. One of her feature screenplays, “Nine Tenths of The Law”, co-written with creative partner Nick Gambino, finished as a Slamdance Screenplay Quarter Finalist in the Top 30 of 4000+ screenplays.
Dan Jablons is an accomplished Character Actor who began as an improv performer. He has now performed across the USA and built a significant resume of film, television, and commercial work. “My Man” is one of his first screenplays as a writer, which won the 2024 Space Dream Productions International Screenplay Competition and was produced as a result.
Spaceship speaks art, stories, and music fluently.
After directing and producing multiple short and feature length documentaries, and client ad projects early in his career, in 2015 Spaceship joined Space Dream Productions as a collaborator with his wife, Koura Linda, becoming a co-owner in 2020.
In addition to his role as Executive Vice President of the company, he oversees dozens of films and thousands of videos for in-house and client projects, while managing in-house editors, and mentoring college students and recent graduates through the company’s editing internship program.
He has written and directed multiple Space Dream Productions short film projects and music videos, including two winning 48 Hour Film Project films, and he’s been personally nominated for and has won multiple awards as a writer, director, cinematographer, editor, VFX artist, sound designer, audio mixer, musician, and composer for dozens of films.
On the music side, Spaceship has been writing, recording and releasing songs for almost two decades, as well as performing at American venues on both east and west coasts (including The ASCAP Music Cafe at the Sundance Film Festival, Johnny Cash’s Hideaway Farm, and The Viper Room.)
A prolific maestro across multiple instruments, Spaceship composes and performs on acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, piano, keyboard, banjo, ukulele, and harmonica, while writing and singing lyrics and vocal harmonies.
In addition to recording and performing his own original music, Spaceship is also an Audio Curator, and contributing artist to 2 Emmy Award wins for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s production company hitRECord.
His songs “The Spaces Between” and “Of The Future” (and their accompanying TV segments) were produced for the Emmy Award-winning TV series “HitRecord on TV”. His work was also a part of the Emmy Awardwinning YouTube Original Series “Create Together” by hitRECord.
Spaceship is proud to have collaborated with artists from all around the world on national campaigns for major electronics brands and the U.S. National Park Service (just to name a few).
A voting member of the Recording Academy, Spaceship joined the 2025-2026 Grammy U Mentors presented by Amazon Music, dedicated to helping foster new professionals to the world of music and music production.
