REWIND

Creating this film was an exploration of the profound human experiences of loneliness, social isolation, and the pursuit of meaningful connection. At its core, the narrative revolves around a mother grappling with the impending separation from her daughter due to military service, a theme that resonates deeply with the universal emotions tied to love and loss.

The use of futuristic technology serves as a backdrop to magnify the emotional intensity of the story. I believe that the most compelling science fiction narratives seamlessly integrate futuristic elements to amplify the underlying human drama. In this film, the speculative technology becomes a metaphor for the emotional struggles faced by the characters.

Despite being a student short film, we overcame numerous obstacles to bring this story to life. What makes me exceptionally proud is the authenticity infused into the project. Having three US Air Force veterans as integral cast members added a layer of realism and depth to the film. Authenticity has always been a top priority for me when crafting short films, and I believe it enhances the audience’s connection to the narrative. Ultimately, this film seeks to provoke reflection on the intricate tapestry of human relationships in the face of challenging circumstances.
